SOLUTIONS & HOLISTIC HEALTH DIRECTORY
This solutions and holistic health library gathers some of the most inspiring solutions and empowering information in the fields of personal, social and environmental healing. It offers a diverse selection of practical wisdom, holistic innovations, indigenous knowledge, leading-edge collectives, projects, blueprints, communities and networks from all sectors. Primarily a video library, some pages also provide links to websites, articles, events, resources and more. (For example see Urban Innovation).
The world of solutions is already so vast and extensive it can become difficult to know which solution is best for any particular challenge or situation! Thus we are working with emerging evolutionary web-technologies to co-create a unified “library of libraries” where all solutions can be searched & found, uploaded, showcased, discussed, refined and curated. Below the wheel of sectors you can find links to other solutions libraries.
Please feel welcome to explore and be inspired!
FOUR MUST-SEE DOCUMENTARIES ABOUT CITIZEN-LED SOLUTIONS
In Transition 2.0 is an inspirational immersion in the Transition movement, gathering stories from around the world of ordinary people doing extraordinary things.
You never change things by fighting the existing reality.
To change something, build a new model that makes the existing model obsolete.
– Buckminster Fuller
Let’s Talk About The New Models
Humanity is in the midst of a profound cultural metamorphosis. Today there is a global transformation movement of an estimated 700 million people and 1 million organizations, communities, cooperatives, networks and ethical businesses & startups that, each in their unique way, are working for a better world. Perhaps the most inspiring and empowering, yet least reported news is that we already have everything we need for us to effectively address all our social, ecological, economic and political challenges.
New Models of Thinking
As Albert Einstein elucidated, we can't solve problems by using the same kind of thinking that created them. At this critical time, where the human species is causing Earth's sixth mass extinction, we need "new models" of thinking that can easily spread globally to shift our collective mindset and our current ecocidal trajectory. Such new models of thinking are underpinned by the understanding of the interconnected nature of all life and indeed the universe, and are best described through the words holistic and whole-systems. Holistic implies recognising how the "whole" is made up of inherently interconnected and interdependent parts. Whole-systems health entails cultivating the optimal connections between each of the parts (people, animals, trees, water, projects, systems, etc.) to enable all expressions of life to receive precisely what they need in order to manifest their unique potential in mutual nourishment with the whole (Vitality Code).
As millions of people around the world awaken to the systemic causes of our cultural and ecological dysfunction, we realise that we can no longer expect or hope for our governments to make the urgent and fundamental changes in our failing social systems. Our new thinking compels each and every citizen to take responsibility for the world we live in. Thus, with personal action and accountability in service of the health of the whole, we can move beyond reductionist, profit-driven and symptomatic fixes towards implementing scalable, holistic solutions for a whole-systems transformation of society.
This library is in support of coherent global conversation about genuine solutions that will ensure a thriving future for all life on Earth.
Our Personal and Collective Response-ability for Self-Education
One of the most significant practical actions that everyone can take at this crucial time of transition is for each of us to take personal responsibility for informing and educating ourselves and each other about solutions. When we learn about the interconnected nature of creation and our diverse wealth of innovations, best practices, holistic social systems, and pathways for personal development and healing that are flourishing in the world today, we become solutionaries empowered with hope and practical knowledge.
The most important thing we can do is change the narrative. We need to tell stories about solutions
and give people hope rather than struggle with the overwhelming sense of weight and isolation that we feel
when we only focus on the problems of the world. We need to encourage, cooperate and inspire our friends,
family and community. The solutions to the problems of the world already exist. They just need to be made visible
to the public eye so we can implement them at the global scale. Once we expand our worldview
to acknowledge the vast scope of the new models, we can create positive change exponentially.
