This directory offers a diverse selection of some of the most inspiring solutions, projects, blueprints, communities, businesses and networks from all sectors. Currently a video library, this directory will soon also provide links to websites, articles, events, resources and more. (For example see Urban Innovation)

An entirely new Internet architecture is already emerging through diverse web-technology collectives who are dedicated to serving the good of the whole (see Technology). They are each designing and building connectable parts of an open source, peer-to-peer, decentralized and unified global web platform. Such a platform will provide and evolve the optimal tools, information and virtual spaces to support humanity's collective transition into a culture of peace, cooperation, sharing, honesty, compassion and holistic health.

In Transition 2.0 is an inspirational immersion in the Transition movement, gathering stories from around the world of ordinary people doing extraordinary things.

You never change things by fighting the existing reality.
To change something, build a new model that makes the existing model obsolete.

Let’s Talk About The New Models

Humanity is on the verge of an unprecedented cultural transformation. In fact, it's already happening. Today there is a global transformation movement of an estimated 1million organizations, communities, cooperatives, networks and ethical businesses & startups who are, each in their unique way, working for a better world. Perhaps the most inspiring and empowering, yet least reported news is that we already have everything we need for us to effectively address all our social, ecological, economic and political challenges.

We have the knowledge and technology to provide for all and to reduce our impacts on the environment.
The emergence of a global civil society is creating new opportunities to build a democratic and humane world.
Our environmental, economic, political, social, and spiritual challenges are interconnected,
and together we can forge inclusive solutions.

New Models of Thinking

As Albert Einstein said, we can't solve problems by using the same kind of thinking that created them. At this critical time, where a single species is causing Earth's sixth mass extinction, we need "new models" of thinking that can easily spread globally to shift our collective mindset and our ecocidal trajectory. Such new models of thinking are best illuminated through the words holistic and whole-systems. Holistic implies recognising how the "whole" is made up of interconnected and interdependent parts. Whole-systems means identifying and facilitating the optimal connections between each of the parts (people, animals, trees, water, projects, systems, etc.) to enable all expressions of life to manifest their unique potential in mutual nourishment with the whole (Vitality Code).

As millions of people around the world awaken to the systemic causes of our cultural and ecological dysfunction, we realise that we can no longer expect or hope for our governments to make the urgent and fundamental changes in our failing social systems. Our new thinking urges us to skilfully move beyond reductionist, profit-driven and symptomatic fixes towards exploring and implementing scalable, holistic solutions for a whole-systems transformation of human society. Thus we are now collectively summoned, as a species, to open a coherent global conversation about genuine solutions that will ensure a thriving future for all life on Earth.

Our Personal and Collective Response-ability for Self-Education

One of the most significant practical actions that everyone can take at this crucial time of transition is for each of us to take personal responsibility for informing and educating ourselves and each other about solutions. When we learn about the interconnected nature of creation and our diverse wealth of innovations, best practices, holistic social systems, and pathways for personal development and healing that are flourishing in the world today, we become solutionaries empowered with hope and practical knowledge.

The most important thing we can do is change the narrative. We need to tell stories about solutions
and give people hope rather than struggle with the overwhelming sense of weight and isolation that we feel
when we only focus on the problems of the world. We need to encourage, cooperate and inspire our friends,
family and community. The solutions to the problems of the world already exist. They just need to be made visible
to the public eye so we can implement them at the global scale. Once we expand our worldview
to acknowledge the vast scope of the new models, we can create positive change exponentially.
